Bannu attack: Lt Col Sahibzada Gul Faraz among martyrs, 5 militants killed

BANNU: At least three security personnel, including a lieutenant colonel, Sahibzada Gul Faraz has been martyred in a suicide bomb blast in the Sra Darga area of Bannu, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to ISPR, five Taliban affiliates were also killed in the operation, during which a vehicle-borne IED was being assembled to target Bannu district, before the suicide bombing that targeted security officials.

The explosive-laden motorbike struck the mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicle, as per reports.

Immediately after the explosion, a large contingent of security forces reached the spot and launched a search operation by cordoning off the area. The operation is still ongoing.
