ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has made a rallying call to his supporters to converge on Islamabad on November 24, his sister Aleem Khan said on Wednesday.

In a media talk in Rawalpindi, Aleema Khan said that “the former prime minister has called for a nationwide protest on November 24 and urged supporters to come out for the protest in Islamabad.”

She added that Imran Khan asked Pakistanis to decide whether they wanted to live under martial law or enjoy freedom, adding that Khan’s message was directed at farmers, lawyers, civil society, and students.

Former prime minister’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry also told reporters in Rawalpindi that Imran Khan instructed the party’s entire leadership to be part of the march, which he termed as the “final call” for anti-government protest.

The protest’s scope will extend far beyond Islamabad with demonstrations planned across Pakistan and across the world, Faisal Chaudhry said. “Imran Khan has formed a committee to oversee the march, with its members’ names being kept under wraps due to concerns about potential arrests,” he added.

Earlier on Saturday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur during the Swabi rally refrained from giving the final date for the protest. He asked his supporters to get ready for the protest and they would not return home without the PTI founder’s release.
