Iranian Naval Commander Alireza Tangsiri martyred

TEHRAN: Iran has officially confirmed the martyrdom of Alireza Tangsiri, a key commander of the Revolutionary Guards Navy.

According to Iranian officials, he was seriously injured in an attack and succumbed to his injuries.

According to a foreign news agency, a statement issued by the Revolutionary Guards said that Alireza Tangsiri was playing an important role in the defense of the country, his martyrdom is a great loss, the statement added that his services will always be remembered.

On the other hand, the Israeli Defense Minister claimed that senior Iranian military officers were targeted during an operation on March 26.

According to international media reports, an Israeli official said that the attack was carried out in the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, where Alireza Tangsiri was present.

Analysts say that the already existing tension between Iran and Israel in the region may increase after this incident.
