ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security agencies have taken prompt and effective countermeasures to the unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban in various sectors of Khyber, Chitral, Mohmand, Kurram, and Bajaur.

According to initial reports, there have been heavy casualties on the Afghan side, and several posts and equipment have been destroyed.

According to a tweet from the official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Information of Pakistan, Pakistan has made it clear that it will take all necessary measures to ensure the integrity of its borders and the safety of its citizens.

It may be recalled that the spokesman for the Taliban government, Zabihullah Mujahid, announced that a large-scale operation had been launched against military centers and installations located along the Durand Line.

According to Zabihullah Mujahid, this operation has been taken against those Pakistani military units that move within Taliban boundaries or are active against government interests.

However, Pakistani authorities have rejected this claim, saying that a legal and effective response has been given to the Taliban’s unjustified firing to protect national security and the border.
