Suicide blast near Imambargah in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A suicide blast has taken place during Friday prayers at the Khadijatul Kubra Imambargah in the Tarlai Kalan area of ​​the federal capital, resulting in 31 people being martyred and  114 injured.

According to officials, the injured are being immediately shifted to PIMS, Polyclinic and CDA Hospital. Citizens are also taking the injured to the hospital in private vehicles in addition to ambulances.

In view of the emergency situation, an emergency has been imposed in the hospitals so that immediate medical assistance can be provided to the injured.

According to a PIMS spokesperson, a full emergency has been imposed in the hospital on the instructions of the Executive Director. Along with the main emergency, the orthopedic, burn center and neuro departments have also been alerted.

Security agencies have cordoned off the scene and started an investigation, while initial information about the nature of the explosion and the casualties is being collected.

Police sources say that the foreign suicide bomber was affiliated with Fitna-ul-Kharij. When the suicide bomber was stopped at the gate, he blew himself up, resulting in the martyrdom of 12 innocent worshippers, while several others were injured.

On the instructions of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry reached PIMS Hospital, where he visited the injured patients undergoing treatment and reviewed the arrangements.

He also directed the administration to provide special medical facilities. He said that the government is determined to provide all possible medical facilities to the injured patients.
