RIYADH: As the Hajj season begins, people around the globe wonder what Hajj pilgrims get in food and how much money do they need to spend to get quality food.
As of Hajj 2026, more than 1086 crore rupees are being spent on the food of Pakistani pilgrims under the government Hajj scheme.
According to sources, the total expenditure on the food of Pakistani pilgrims has exceeded 144.8 million Saudi riyals. Food worth 36 Saudi riyals, i.e. approximately 2700 Pakistani rupees, is being provided to Hajj pilgrims daily.
In Saudi Arabia, Pakistani pilgrims are being provided with fresh and hot food three times a day. Paratha, eggs, tea, halwa and toast are part of the menu for breakfast. Lunch includes biryani, qurma, dal, rice and salad.
