PESHAWAR: The province has implemented its Dengue Action Plan 2026 because two dengue cases appeared in Kohat. The province will conduct active dengue prevention activities throughout its territory as part of its response to two confirmed dengue cases in Kohat.

The Peshawar meeting, led by KP Health Minister Khaliq ur Rehman, included emergency response planning through surveillance system implementation, which he ordered to be executed without delay.

The officials reported during the briefing that the province conducted inspections of more than 94000 households and 183000 water containers through its heightened monitoring activities.

The field operations designed to prevent dengue transmission have proven successful because no dengue larvae have been discovered thus far. The Health Minister instructed district administrations, hospitals, and surveillance teams to maintain continuous readiness while they implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with complete compliance.

The KP Health Department has expedited the process to acquire insecticides and essential medical equipment, while it has increased community surveillance operations and established emergency response units throughout various districts and tehsils.

Hospitals have received orders to stock sufficient dengue testing kits, create separate isolation areas, and assign qualified healthcare staff members who will manage all probable and confirmed dengue incidents.

The Minister confirmed that authorities will maintain their commitment to prevent dengue from becoming a public health emergency through their ongoing work.

The Dengue Action Plan 2026 represents a complete operational program whose purpose is to achieve zero-larvae conditions throughout the province while safeguarding local populations, according to his statements.
