LAHORE: The Punjab government introduced its “Clinic on Wheels” program, which delivers medical services directly to patients living in remote and underserved communities.

The program ensures that patients no longer have to travel long distances to access basic healthcare facilities. Mobile clinics and field hospitals operate throughout the province because of this project, which provides complete medical equipment to support their operations in both rural and urban areas.

The medical units deliver direct medical services, which include consultations and checkups, maternal and child health services, vaccinations, and chronic disease management to people at their homes.

Health workers and doctors are conducting screenings for diabetes, hypertension, and other common illnesses, while distributing free medicines for up to two months to patients in need.

The Punjab Health Initiative program, which government officials announced, supports three main goals, which include building primary healthcare systems, expanding vaccination programs, and decreasing tertiary hospital demand.

The initiative enables healthcare professionals to diagnose diseases early while protecting patients from diseases through better preventive methods, which support vulnerable populations, especially women, children, and elderly individuals. Through the clinic on wheels initiative, any sick person can receive treatment at their doorstep, Mashallah.

The field hospitals provide services to villagers, which enables them to access medical care without traveling to distant hospitals. The “Clinic on Wheels” program shows the provincial government’s commitment to improving healthcare access through its mobile medical services.
