KARACHI: The Sindh government has approved a comprehensive health insurance policy for police personnel, providing medical coverage to officers and their families.

This initiative follows the Sindh Cabinet’s decision, with the Finance Department expected to release funds soon.

A meeting at the Central Police Office, chaired by Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, discussed the scheme’s details. During the briefing, DIG Finance informed participants that health cards would be issued to all police personnel by the selected insurance company.

To ensure proper coverage, NADRA’s assistance will be utilized to verify the family details of police officers.

The policy offers extensive benefits, including coverage worth PKR 1 million per annum for each family, covering inpatient hospitalization and OPD services.

Families can avail of cashless inpatient health services at over 1,000 impaneled private and public hospitals across Pakistan.

Moreover, to ensure seamless implementation, IG Sindh directed all district and unit officers to conduct awareness programs, making officers and their families fully aware of the policy and its benefits. Training on utilizing the health insurance benefits will commence immediately.

This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel, who bravely perform their duties.

additionally, the partnership between State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) and Sindh Police aims to provide comprehensive health insurance coverage, ensuring the well-being of officers and their families.
