Alvi says he is ready to face legal action under Article 6

KARACHI:  Dr. Arif Alvi, the former president, claims he did not do anything against the constitution while in office. He declared, “I am prepared to handle the situation if a case is filed under Article 6 against me.” After stepping down as president of Islamabad, he said these things at a press conference in Karachi.

Speaking about some of the meetings he presided over, he stated he made an effort to make each one better but was not particularly successful. The former president said, “My efforts have been to unite the country.”

Regarding achieving national peace, he stated that all citizens have to recognize and honor the mandate granted to the victorious political party in the elections. He said, “Unity is what we need right now, and the PTI founder’s release from jail would be paramount in this regard.” The PTI founder, he continued, is the only leader capable of bringing the Pakistani people together.
