Chicken prices again increased in Pakistan during Ramadan: Check latest prices

LAHORE: Major cities across Pakistan including Lahore saw a notable increase in the cost of broiler meat on Monday during the holy month of Ramadan.

The cost of chicken meat in Lahore went up by Rs 32 in a single day to Rs 612, and the cost of live chicken went up by Rs 22 to Rs 422 on the same day. Nonetheless, the cost of a dozen farm eggs remained stable at 273 rupees.

However, the cost of fruits and vegetables has also gone up, which has further burdened the average citizen who is already struggling with the nation’s soaring inflation.

In Lahore, Onions cost Rs 200 per kilogram, Kachnar cost Rs 300 per kilogram, bell peppers cost Rs 400 per kilogram, apples cost Rs 250 per kilogram, melons cost Rs 200 per kilogram, strawberries cost Rs 300 per kilogram, and bananas cost Rs 200 per dozen.

In the meantime, the cost of vegetables has begun to drop in Peshawar as a result of the high court’s notice, but the cost of broiler chicken meat has stayed the same at Rs 450 per kilogram.
