First 600 Government-Sponsored Professionals leave for Employment Overseas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, has accomplished a major first for the labor force of Pakistan by effectively facilitating the departure of the first group of professionals for work abroad.

This accomplishment comes after a string of fruitful and successful visits by Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials to Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and European nations, which resulted in a wealth of employment openings for competent people.

More than 10,000 interviews later, 600 candidates were chosen for a range of foreign job roles. These people, who were from all over Pakistan, left the main airports in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar on their way to work in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain.

Special Assistant Jawad Sohrab Malik states that this program is the start of a larger endeavor to generate thousands of new employment possibilities under 46 more contracts. He stressed how in-demand talented workers are in industries like building, healthcare, engineering, IT, hospitality, and finance.

Since November, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis have been actively interacting with foreign employers; their combined efforts have been important in the success of this endeavor. Pakistan has secured several agreements through participation in international conferences, exhibitions, and joint meetings; by the end of the week, there should be 100 agreements in place.

By signing contracts, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis gave 600 individuals the opportunity to work overseas.

Jawad Sohrab Malik also emphasized that employment prospects abroad are not restricted to a specific skill set, as professionals, highly skilled laborers, semi-skilled laborers, and unskilled laborers are all able to find work. Furthermore, the emphasis on industries like construction, engineering, IT, hospitality, banking, and health highlights the variety of options accessible to Pakistani workers.

There is hope that this program will not only give people and their families economic stability but also contribute to the general growth and development of Pakistan’s workforce as the first group of professionals go for their overseas travels. The government is still dedicated to providing job opportunities for its citizens and maximizing the potential of its highly skilled labor force on the international arena, even with more accords in the works.
