Iftar dinner for Pakistan cricket team with Army Chief rescheduled

RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, will host the Pakistan men’s cricket team for an iftar dinner. Originally set for April 7, the date has been moved to April 8.

The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, and the top brass of the Pakistan Army will attend the iftar meal in Rawalpindi. After that players will return to their homes ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The national team is currently engaged in a fitness camp in Kakul, Abbottabad, ahead of the T20I series against New Zealand. Pakistan players underwent training and gym exercises at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT).

After Eid, the players will return to Rawalpindi, where they will prepare for the five-match Twenty20 International Series against New Zealand being played at Rawalpindi and Lahore, scheduled from April 18 to April 25.

Note that New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan on April 14 ahead of the much-awaited five-match Twenty20 International series.
