Sunrisers Hyderabad got back to winning ways in the 2024 IPL with a comfortable six-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings on Friday.

Abhishek Sharma teed off with 37 off just 12 balls to set the ball rolling while Aiden Markram’s 50 off 36 balls and Travis Head’s 31 off 24 balls also proved to be useful in the final context of the game.

SRH kept a tab on CSK’s run rate in the first eight overs after captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent back Rachin Ravindra early in the match, with the Kiwi falling for 12 off nine.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad then fell to Shahbaz Ahmed in the eighth over on 26 off 21. Shivam Dube then came in and that led to a spike in CSK’s run rate.

Dube smashed 45 runs in just 24 balls and CSK were cruising at 119/2 in the 14th over. He, however, fell to Pat Cummins after which SRH clawed their way back by starving CSK for runs.

SRH conceded just 38 runs in the last five overs and CSK were limited to a score of 165/5.
