ITP issues traffic plan for Pakistan Day parade, full dress rehearsal tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Mobile services may be suspended from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. within a five-kilometer radius of the parade avenue tomorrow (Thursday), in anticipation of the full-dress rehearsal for the Pakistan Day parade, sources have stated.

Due to the complete dress rehearsal, schools in sector H–8 and I–8 will be closed tomorrow. Neighboring roads will also be closed. Public access to several nearby roads, including Parade Avenue, Zero Point, Faizabad, and Faisal Avenue, will be restricted.

A comprehensive traffic plan for the entire dress rehearsal was released by the City Traffic Police of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

From 5 AM to 2 PM, Faizabad will be entirely closed. The Koral Chowk Interchange will redirect traffic heading towards Islamabad onto Link Road.

Shamsabad Double Road and 9th Avenue would be the points of entry for traffic coming from Rawalpindi to Islamabad. In order to proceed from Park Road to Rawal Dam Chowk and Murree Road, traffic heading from Islamabad to Rawalpindi will be rerouted onto the IJP road toward Katarian and Pindora Chowk.

The Khanna Pull, Lehtarar Road, and Taramirri Chowk intersections will be used by traffic heading from the airport to Park Road in Islamabad.
