A local fisherman from Karachi, Hanif Katiyar, from the coastal village of Kharo Chan, became a millionaires by catching more than 300 rare Sowa fish.

In July 2021, a fisherman caught a rare fish, locally known as Sowa, weighing 26 kg from Jiwani Beach in Balochistan. According to details, the fish fetched Rs676,000 at an auction in a local fish market.
