A video purports to show the fast food restaurant burning and in disarray as people flee onto the street, with protesters shouting, “We burned KFC!”

Rescue 1122 Mirpur Azad Kashmir Medical Rescue reached the scene in time. They gave first aid to the victims and shifted them to the hospital. While several people were injured in the violent incidents, more than 50 protesters were arrested by the Mirpur police.

The police also used tear gas and shelling to disperse the protesters, but the police could not save the KFC restaurant, after which the restaurant collapsed.

KFC’s Middle East division saw a 5% drop in sales for the most recent quarter as a result of the chain’s continued business with Israel, which has angered many in the Muslim world.

In a different video circulating on social media shows the fast food restaurant engulfed in flames and chaos as people run into the street to escape the flames.

CEO David Gibbs reportedly stated, “top line sales were impacted by the conflict in the Middle East region, with varying degrees of impact across markets in the Middle East, Malaysia, and Indonesia,” during an investor call last month.
