Mullah Akhund says they deal with every issue in Afghanistan according to Sharia.

PESHAWAR: Afghanistan’s Acting Prime Minister, Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, said on Monday that his country had no intention of causing harm or problems for Pakistan or any other neighboring country.

During a meeting with a delegation of Pakistani religious leaders led by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mullah Hasan Akhund stated that they dealt with each issue in Afghanistan in accordance with Islamic Sharia, as the country was governed by Sharia, and Sharia did not permit harming anyone or any other country, including Pakistan.

The acting Prime Minister of Afghanistan also reiterated that they would not allow anyone to use their soil against another country

He did, however, call for an end to what he described as the “cruel attitude of the Pakistan government authorities” toward Afghan refugees, claiming that such actions caused more problems rather than solving them.

According to Afghan interim government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, Mullah Akhund welcomed Pakistani religious leaders to Kabul and appreciated their role in resolving issues and misunderstandings.

According to Mujahid, the delegation also discussed other issues that both countries’ traders face. He claimed Akhund told Pakistani religious leaders that Afghanistan and Pakistan could never be separated because the two countries shared many similarities.

The two sides emphasized the importance of finding new ways to resolve issues and avoiding practices that could exacerbate tensions between the two neighbours.

In addition to Fazl, Maulana Abdul Wasey, Maulana Salahuddin, Maulana Kamaluddin, Maulana Jamaluddin, Maulana Salimuddin Shamzai, Maulana Imdadullah, Maulana Sheikh Mohammad Idrees, Dr Atiqur Rahman, and Mufti Ibrar attended the meeting.

Hasan Akhund represented the Afghan government, who were accompanied by Chief Justice of Afghanistan Maulvi Abdul Hakim Haqqani, Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Hajj and Auqaf Maulvi Noor Mohammad Saqib, and other senior officials.

Muttaqi emphasized the importance of facilitating trade and business between the two countries.

“The basic purpose of our visit is to remove the mistrust between Pakistan and Afghanistan,” Fazl said.

He told the Afghan officials that JUIF had spoken out against the Pakistani authorities’ attitude toward Afghan refugees, citing it as one of the factors contributing to tensions between the two countries. “We have brought a message of solidarity to Afghanistan and believe that it will have a positive impact,” Fazl said.

Meanwhile, sources say the Pakistani Taliban have not been informed of any potential meeting between them and Pakistani religious leaders. However, the Pakistani delegation’s hosts may arrange meetings with certain Pakistani Taliban leaders while in Afghanistan.
