ISLAMABAD: Senior PTI leaders Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz have resigned from the political committee. Both leaders have informed Secretary General Salman Akram Raja about the termination of their membership.

Earlier, it was reported that Omar Ayub Khan has refused to join the party’s political committee. He said in his statement that due to legal and political engagements, he cannot play an effective role in the committee. He also said that the membership of the committee should be limited to only the current party office bearers.

Omar Ayub suggested that Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai be included in the committee so that the party’s parliamentary and organizational affairs can be run effectively. He made it clear that he is and will remain a loyal worker of founding chairman Imran Khan, but decisions within the party should be taken in an institutional manner.

The senior leader said that in view of the challenges faced by the party, a clear division of responsibilities is necessary so that the party’s organizational and parliamentary affairs can be run effectively.
