Pakistan to observe Shab-e-Barat tonight with religious devotion

Tonight, Muslims worldwide, including those in Pakistan, are observing Shab-e-Barat (night of forgiveness) with profound religious devotion and reverence today (Sunday).

Special rituals will be performed in residences and mosques across the nation. Devotees observe the night by abstaining during the day and devoting the evening to prayer.

It is believed that the ‘night of forgiveness’ occurs fifteen days before the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to one Islamic tradition, individuals’ fortunes for the upcoming year are written by Allah Almighty, taking into consideration the Muslims’ evening supplications for pardoning their wrongs.

Meanwhile, mosque administrations have initiated preparations to facilitate worshipers and commemorate the occasion.

Masses engage in special Nawafil, the recitation of the Holy Quran, and an assortment of other religious rituals during these gatherings to obtain the absolution of their sins and the blessings of Allah SWT.
