PML-N MPA Uzma Kardar injured during Gym workout

LAHORE: Uzma Kardar, a Member of the Punjab Assembly from the Pakistan Muslim League (N), was injured during a gym training session after an iron rod hit her head.

According to reports, she suffered a deep head injury and severe bleeding during a weight-training workout. She was immediately shifted to a private hospital for first aid and later moved to Services Hospital, where doctors stitched her wound and advised her to take complete rest for a few days before discharging her.

Sources said Uzma Kardar regularly performs nearly an hour of weight training at the gym every day. However, her trainer was not present at the time of the incident. Due to the trainer’s absence, the safety pin on the weightlifting rod was reportedly not locked properly, causing the rod to suddenly strike her head.

Speaking to the media later, Uzma Kardar said her trainer usually takes care of all safety measures, but the accident occurred because of the trainer’s absence and her own negligence.
