Previously, the Punjab police have said both security institutions have ‘amicably’ resolved the Bahawalnagar incident which went viral on social media on Wednesday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement on Friday stated that recently a ‘tragic’ incident took place in Bahawalnagar but the matter was resolved immediately with the joint efforts of the Pakistan Army and Punjab Police.

ISPR added that a joint inquiry will be conducted to find out the facts as well as identify those responsible. A team consisting of security and police personnel will conduct a thorough inquiry, the ISPR concluded.

On the first day of Eid, several social media users, including some prominent figures claimed that 40 to 50 army personnel stormed the madrasa police station of Bahawalnagar over a dispute regarding the raid on a security official’s house and tortured the policemen present there.
