Rain in Islamabad; City Experiences Winter Again

ISLAMABAD: Rain battered the capital city and surrounding areas, bringing back the cold weather that had briefly relieved the metropolis during the winter.

The precipitation caused the temperature to drop, which made people seek for their warm clothes once more. More rain and snowfall was expected in the country’s top regions, according to the Met Office. The country’s upper regions are currently experiencing a westerly wave, which the meteorological official predicts will intensify and last until February 21.

Road closures in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Astore, Hunza, Diamer, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Havellian may occur until February 20 due to heavy rain, wind, or thunderstorm combined with snow.

Landslides could potentially occur in Gilgit-Baltistan, higher Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It is predicted that Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, KP, the Potohar region, Islamabad, Punjab, and northern Balochistan will see cloudy skies with rain, wind, and thunderstorms.

Many were taken aback by the abrupt change in the weather; although some enjoyed the cool rain, others complained about the return of the cold weather.

Islamabad’s famous landmarks were shrouded in mist as the temperature dropped, giving the metropolis a charming charm.
The recent cold snap reminded everyone that winter is still very much in control in the nation’s capital and warned people to prepare for more chilly days to come.

Residents of Islamabad are urged to take protective measures against the chilly weather by staying warm and dry to prevent getting sick, especially with the arrival of rain.
