Salman Ali Agha to remain captain till T20 World Cup
COLOMBO: National cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha said that the control of the Indian match is not in our hands. It is for the government to decide.
Pakistan cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha attended the press conference held before the World Cup and discussed important issues including the team’s preparations.
National cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha said on a question regarding the possible match against India that the control of the match with the Indian team is not in our hands. We will respect the decision the government will take in this regard.
He said that we are currently not sure whether the match with India will take place or not. However, the national team will move forward according to the government’s policy.
The national team captain said that this is his first World Cup as a captain. And he is very excited about this. He expressed hope that under his leadership, the team will give the fans a good game to watch.
Salman Ali Agha admitted that the team could not show the performance that the fans expected in previous tournaments. However, in every new tournament, they enter the field with new hope and enthusiasm.
He said that this time the team is playing good cricket and hopefully. That a good performance will be shown in the World Cup as well.
He described the Bangladesh team’s non-participation in the World Cup as regrettable. And said that the national team has been playing good cricket continuously for the last 6 months. And efforts have been made to improve all areas of the team.
Talking about Sri Lanka, Salman Ali Agha said that Sri Lanka is like a second home for him, the people here are very good and moral. He said that whenever he came to Sri Lanka and played cricket, he always felt good.
