ISLAMABAD: In a recent announcement, federal authorities have officially sanctioned winter vacations for schools and colleges in the federal capital.

The Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) issued an official notification, outlining the scheduled winter vacations in Islamabad for educational institutions from December 23 to December 31.

As a cold wave tightens its grip on various parts of the country, including the capital, officials have also disclosed revised school timings for both urban and rural areas. The FDE specified that these adjusted timings will be in effect until January 31, 2024.

According to the directive, schools operating in single shifts will commence classes at 8:30 am and conclude at 2:00 pm from Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes concluding at 12:30 pm.

For schools employing double shifts, the morning session will run from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday to Thursday, and Friday classes will end at 12:30 pm.
