KARACHI: The Sindh government on Monday announced four-day Eid holidays on account of Eidul Fitr 2024, the provincial government issued a notification in this regard.
As per notification, the holidays will be observed from April 10 to 13 in line with the federal government’s decision.
“The Government of Sindh declares April 10 to April 12 (Wednesday to Friday) for the offices observing five working days in a week and April 10 to April 13, 2024 (Wednesday to Saturday) for the offices observing six working days in a week as Public Holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr-2024 throughout the Province of Sindh for all Government offices, Autonomous Bodies, Semi-Autonomous Bodies, Corporations and Local Councils under the Administrative Control of Government of Sindh, except essential services,” the notification reads.
Earlier this week, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a forecast stating that the Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted across the country on Tuesday, April 9.
According to the PMD forecast, the moon of Shawwal is expected to rise on the night of April 8 at 11:21 PM local time. On April 9, the moon is estimated to be between 19 and 20 hours old, with an expected duration of more than 50 minutes after sunset on the horizon.
