Weather Alert: Moderate to heavy snowfall in Murree and Northern Areas of Pakistan

Islamabad: Moderate to heavy rain/snowfall in Murree, Galiat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astor, Hunza, Skardu, Neelam Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Haveli on 31 January (night) and 01 February. Fear of landslides and closure of communication roads. Tourists are advised to be careful.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Potohar region, North-East Punjab and Kashmir, there is a chance of rain with strong winds and thunder and snow in the mountains. Meanwhile, heavy rain and snowfall is expected at a few places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Guliyat and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The weather will remain cold in other parts of the country. Chance of fog in some areas of Punjab and Upper Sindh.

Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Potohar region, Islamabad, Northeast/Central Punjab, Karachi, Thatta and Ormara received rain and snow over mountains. A few plains of South Punjab and Upper Sindh remained foggy.
