Anzela Abbasi shares why she stopped acting

Islamabad: Anzela Abbasi hails from a highly talented family entrenched in the Pakistani media industry, spanning three generations. Her father, Shamoon Abbasi, and mother, Javeria Abbasi, are prominent figures, while her aunt, Anoushay Abbasi, is also a renowned actress. Following in her family’s footsteps, Anzela initially ventured into acting, but later shifted her focus to modeling.

Having been absent from television screens for several years, Anzela has now embarked on a new journey in the music industry. In a recent interview, she disclosed her longstanding passion for music and expressed her joy in pursuing a career that fulfills her creatively.

Anzela revealed her reasons for stepping away from acting, citing her disapproval of the repetitive saas-bahu dramas prevalent in Pakistani television. She expressed discomfort with being typecast into the role of a sweet and simple girl, which she believes does not align with her real-life persona.

Addressing perceptions of her as bold and unconventional, Anzela clarified that she is not attempting to challenge societal norms but rather asserts her individuality. She acknowledged that her uniqueness may be difficult for some to comprehend but has come to terms with it, embracing her distinctiveness.
