FBR launches probe into Rajab Butt over alleged hidden assets

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated action against social media influencer Rajab Butt over allegations of concealing assets worth millions of rupees, according to official sources.

An audit has been commenced by the Regional Tax Office (RTO), Lahore, to examine the finances of the last five years.

His sources of income and expenditure have been investigated. Moreover, he has been probed for the buying of luxury cars and other valuable assets.

Discrepancies have been found between the sources of income and lavish lifestyle, especially when it comes to owning many luxurious cars.

The process is being done after receiving the findings made by the Lifestyle Monitoring Cell on the basis of suspicious financial transactions.

He will be issued a notice in due course regarding his unexplained income after the completion of the process.
