ISLAMABAD: In a groundbreaking move, the Islamabad High Court has granted 10-day bail to renowned Pakistani YouTuber and TikToker Rajab Butt and Nadeem Nani Wala.

The content creators returned to Pakistan last night after the United Kingdom authorities deported them. The TikTokers had earlier received protective bail from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) before arriving in Pakistan.

These creators of content are not new to court cases. This September, Butt was booked by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, NCCIA, upon a complaint that he was promoting online gambling apps on social media.

The NCCIA also booked Nadeem for allegedly promoting gambling apps on his social media. He was, however, arrested last month for displaying a fake registration number – ‘IK-804’ – on his car.

Upon interrogation, he failed to satisfy the police regarding the display of the fake registration number, IK-804, said to be the prisoner number allotted to incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan.

The court had earlier granted protective bail to the content creators on a petition filed by the relatives of Butt and Mubarak to ensure that the content creators are not arrested on arrival.

“The accused Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak shall not be arrested upon landing at Islamabad Airport till they surrender before this court on the date fixed,” read the orders.
