ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Aamir Zia on Tuesday granted bail to accused Hassan Zahid in a harassment and blackmail case.

The court orders him to submit a surety bond of Rs 20,000.  The court also directed the accused to join the investigation.

The accused, however, is still in police custody on a five-day physical remand in another case at Shalimar Police Station.

Arguments on the accused Hassan Zahid’s pre-arrest bail application will be held on September 9

The petitioner claimed before the court that he was innocent in the kidnapping case and that the harassment and blackmail case had been filed only to harass and pressure him.

Earlier, the suspect in the TikToker Samiya Hijab kidnapping case confessed to the crime in court and was handed over to police for a five-day physical remand.

Islamabad Police presented the suspect Hassan Zahid in the District and Sessions Courts in the case of the alleged kidnapping and extortion of a social media influencer.

Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry asked the accused about the threats and why he kidnapped her.  “While confessing the crime, the accused said, Sir! I made a mistake.”

As per details, the police requested an 8-day physical remand of the accused, arguing that they have to recover the vehicle, pistol, and cash from the accused.

The court handed over the accused to the police on a 5-day physical remand.
