KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced the release of a film based on Lyari, ‘Mera Layari’, in response to the anti-Pakistan Indian film Dharandhar, which aims to present a positive and realistic picture of the region to the world.

Senior Provincial Minister for Information, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has said that the Indian film Dharandhar is a systematic propaganda against Pakistan, in which Layari was deliberately presented in a negative light.

According to him, the film ‘Mera Layari’, which will be released next month, will highlight the original culture and identity of the region.

In his statement on the social media platform ‘X’, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Dharandhar is a continuation of efforts to defame Pakistan, and Layari has been specifically targeted through this film.

He clarified that Layari is not a symbol of violence but of peace, culture, talent, and struggle.

He said that the film ‘Mera Layari’ will show the world the real picture of the area, highlighting peace, prosperity, and pride.

According to Sharjeel Inam Memon, the film is expected to be released next month and will be an attempt to highlight the positive image of Layari on the global stage.
