Hania Aamir’s Friend Umer Mukhtar Issues Legal Notice Amid Harassment Allegations

KARACHI: Pakistani showbiz is facing another storm as Umer Mukhtar, a close friend of actress Hania Aamir, has issued a legal notice following harassment allegations. The controversy has sparked debates across social media and news platforms.

The issue began when model Mahnoor Rahim shared posts on February 18 and 19, 2026, alleging that a man sent inappropriate messages to strangers, including underage girls. She initially did not name anyone, but later identified Umer Mukhtar, leading to viral outrage online.

Following her revelations, several other women reportedly came forward with similar claims. Public reaction intensified, putting Hania Aamir in the spotlight due to her friendship with Mukhtar. She clarified that she had no knowledge of the alleged incidents and emphasized support for women speaking out. However, her statement did little to calm online criticism.

Umer Mukhtar, through his lawyers, denied all allegations, describing them as “false” and defamatory. He issued a legal notice citing Pakistan’s Defamation Ordinance, 2000, and the UK Defamation Act 2013. The notice claims that the accusations have caused serious reputational and financial harm.

The notice also demands that all posts, comments, and stories mentioning Umer Mukhtar be deleted within seven days. Additionally, he has requested a formal apology approved by his legal team, a written undertaking to avoid repeating the allegations, and confirmation that no further defamatory content exists.

Despite the legal action, social media reactions remain largely unsympathetic. Users have criticized Mukhtar’s strong response, questioned the timing of the allegations, and compared the case to global scandals. Many have urged alleged victims to share evidence supporting their claims.
