RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan anti-VEGF injection was administered at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad during his scheduled eye treatment visit.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder was brought from Adiala Jail to the hospital late at night under strict security. The visit was part of ongoing treatment for his right eye condition.

Hospital officials said doctors examined his eye before giving the injection. This was the second dose out of three prescribed injections for his treatment.

Before the procedure, a cardiologist also performed echocardiography and ECG tests. Both reports showed his heart condition was normal, according to the hospital statement.

Specialist eye doctors from PIMS and Shifa International Eye Hospital supervised the procedure. The injection was given in the operation theatre following proper medical protocols.

Doctors monitored his health during and after the procedure. His condition remained stable throughout his stay at the hospital.

After completing the treatment, he was discharged the same day. He was sent back to Adiala Jail with medical advice and follow-up instructions.

Sources said he is expected to receive the third injection on March 23 as part of his complete treatment plan.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan confirmed the medical procedure. He said the party wants future treatment to be done at Shifa International Hospital and in the presence of Imran Khan’s personal doctors.

A medical report earlier submitted to the Supreme Court said Imran Khan is suffering from central retinal vein occlusion. The report also stated he has experienced significant vision loss in his right eye.
