Iran control Strait of Hormuz, the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said.
The IRGC said the narrow waterway is fully under its control. It added no force can reopen it to enemies.
The warning came after a recent claim by former US President Donald Trump. Trump said Iran’s president asked for a ceasefire in regional tensions.
He said he would consider a deal “when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear”.
The IRGC responded strongly. It said such displays by the US President are “ridiculous”.
It stressed that the Strait will not be opened by foreign pressure or threats.
The Strait of Hormuz is a key trade route. Nearly one‑third of global oil passes through it.
Any disruption there affects world energy markets and global shipping.
Iran has repeatedly said it can secure the waterway. But the US sees Iranian forces as a threat.
Tensions have risen in recent months with frequent patrol clashes and warnings.
Analysts say both sides are sending strong signals. Iran wants to show strength at home. The US wants to pressure Iran politically.
So far, neither side has shown willingness to ease tensions in the Strait.
