Iran is ready to take war with Israel and the US as far as necessary, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday. He emphasized that Tehran will defend itself and continue the conflict if needed.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, stated that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be used to attack Iran. The passage will operate under strict conditions due to regional insecurity caused by Israel and the US. Baghaei stressed Iran’s right to protect national security in the waterway.

The European Union announced €458 million in humanitarian aid for the Middle East, including areas affected by the US-Israeli war with Iran. EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib said the aid aims to support those affected by ongoing conflicts.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari urged Iran to stop attacks on Gulf countries. He confirmed coordination with other Arab nations but clarified it is not under a formal defense agreement. Al-Ansari mentioned missile threats and precautionary evacuations earlier this week.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK is working with allies to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and ensure safe navigation. He highlighted the economic impact and the need for a coordinated plan.

Germany’s officials said the Middle East war is not NATO’s responsibility. Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized ending the conflict quickly to prevent economic damage. Defence Minister Boris Pistorius stressed Germany’s focus on its territories and support for diplomatic efforts.

Japan and Australia refused US requests to send warships to protect the strait. US President Donald Trump urged allies, including China and Europe, to assist in safeguarding oil shipments, citing global energy reliance.

Regional tensions have disrupted global air travel and energy markets. The UN warned that dependence on fossil fuels increases national risks. Iranian vessels continue limited passage, while Israel maintains attacks on Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza.

A school in Khomein, Iran, was damaged in an airstrike, but no casualties were reported. Iranian authorities remain firm on defending their country and monitoring critical waterways like the Strait of Hormuz.
