The Islamabad e stamping system has been fully implemented in the federal capital as authorities move to eliminate fraud linked to traditional stamp papers and modernize official documentation. The district administration confirmed that the issuance of conventional stamp papers has been discontinued, marking a major step toward digital governance and transparency.

Traditional Stamp Papers Phased Out in Islamabad

According to the Islamabad district administration, the Federal Treasury has stopped issuing new traditional stamp papers. However, stamp papers already in circulation will remain valid until their respective expiry dates, ensuring a smooth transition for citizens and businesses.

Officials said the move aims to curb long-standing issues of forgery and misuse associated with paper-based stamp systems. By shifting to a digital platform, the government expects greater accountability and improved record management across all departments handling legal and financial documentation.

Digital Verification and Public Response

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad stated that under the Islamabad e stamping system, more than 585 digital challans have already been generated. This has helped create a centralized digital record, making it easier to track transactions and verify authenticity.

Citizens can now verify e-stamps through the Citizen Portal, a feature designed to reduce the risk of fake or duplicate stamp usage. Authorities believe this verification facility will significantly increase public trust and confidence in official processes.

The administration added that the new system will not only speed up government services but also provide a safer and more reliable experience for citizens. Legal experts and residents have welcomed the initiative, calling it a practical reform aligned with Pakistan’s broader push for digitization and transparency in public services.
