Islamabad Traffic Police has launched a new riding and driving training facility for women, aiming to improve safe travel and mobility in the federal capital. The initiative, named “Uraan,” focuses on helping women learn to ride scooties, motorcycles, and drive cars in a structured environment.

The facility was officially inaugurated on Tuesday at the Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad. Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, led the opening ceremony. Senior police officials, women officers, participants, and members of the public attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, the IGP said the main purpose of the Uraan program is to provide proper and organized driving training for women. He explained that the initiative is designed to help women gain practical riding and driving skills. These skills can support safer and more independent travel in daily life.

He said the program reflects a step forward in addressing mobility challenges faced by many women in Islamabad. According to him, improving driving skills can help women manage their transportation needs more confidently and safely.

The new training school includes a dedicated driving track and modern training facilities. These features allow participants to learn and practice in a controlled and safe setting. Female instructors have been assigned to conduct all training sessions, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for participants.

Officials confirmed that women who complete the training will receive formal certificates. These certificates will recognize their successful completion of the course and driving skills training.

The facility is expected to benefit female students and working women from Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Authorities said the school will provide them with an opportunity to learn essential riding and driving skills in an organized manner.

The launch of this training center highlights Islamabad Traffic Police’s efforts to promote road safety and support women’s mobility. Officials believe the program will help more women travel independently and confidently across the city.
