North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un has made it clear that the Kim Jong Un nuclear policy will not change. He said the country will continue to strengthen its nuclear forces and treat South Korea as its most hostile state.

He delivered this message during a speech to the Supreme People’s Assembly in Pyongyang. State media reported that nuclear weapons are now a permanent part of the country’s defense.

Kim said the Kim Jong Un nuclear policy is important for national security and economic growth. He rejected any idea of giving up nuclear weapons in exchange for financial aid or security guarantees.

He explained that nuclear power has helped prevent war and allowed the country to focus on development. According to him, global events show that strong defense is necessary for survival.

Kim also accused the United States and its allies of increasing tensions in the region. He said their military presence near the Korean Peninsula is a threat.

At the same time, he warned South Korea that any action against North Korea’s sovereignty will face a strong and immediate response. This shows a tougher stance compared to past policies.

South Korea responded by saying these remarks are not helpful for peace. Officials stressed that dialogue and cooperation are the only way to ensure stability in the region.

Along with security issues, Kim also announced a new five-year economic plan. The plan focuses on improving industry, electricity production, food supply, and housing across the country.

Lawmakers approved the plan and also passed the 2026 budget. Defence spending will increase to 15.8% of total expenses, with a major focus on strengthening nuclear capabilities.

North Korea remains one of the poorest countries in the world due to sanctions and limited resources. Many people still rely on government support and local markets for daily needs.
