Mari Energy Limited has announced a new Dera Bugti gas discovery in Balochistan, marking a positive development for Pakistan’s domestic energy sector. The discovery was made in the Khelchas South Block of Dera Bugti district, according to an official statement released by the company on Tuesday. The company stated that gas was discovered at the Tabri-1 exploratory well, which was drilled to a depth of approximately 7,170 feet. Initial testing results showed a daily gas flow ranging between 6.5 and 11 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), indicating commercially viable potential.

Mari Energy confirmed that further technical evaluation and appraisal activities would be carried out to determine the full scale and sustainability of the reservoir. Officials said the results so far are encouraging and align with the company’s ongoing exploration strategy in Balochistan.
