Maryam Nawaz Announces Rs10 Billion Security Support for Balochistan

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a major Maryam Nawaz security support package worth Rs10 billion to assist security forces in Balochistan. She made the announcement during her visit to Quetta, where she reaffirmed Punjab’s commitment to helping the province address security challenges.

Maryam Nawaz arrived in Quetta with provincial ministers and attended a ceremony at the Frontier Corps Headquarters. Soon after, she met Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. Several provincial ministers and political representatives also joined the meeting.

Later, the Punjab chief minister reached the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Members of the Balochistan cabinet and assembly welcomed her warmly. During discussions with cabinet members and allied parties, she confirmed the financial assistance for security forces.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti appreciated the initiative and described the support as a positive step. He noted that both government and opposition leaders in Balochistan remain united for public welfare. According to him, the aid will strengthen efforts to maintain peace in the province.

Maryam Nawaz said she was pleased to visit Balochistan for the first time as chief minister. She praised the spirit of the province’s people and their strong connection with Pakistan. Moreover, she assured local leadership that Punjab would continue to cooperate in tackling regional difficulties.

The chief minister stressed that national unity is essential to defeat terrorism. She added that lasting peace, stability, and prosperity are shared goals for all provinces. Therefore, collaboration between governments is necessary to achieve them.

Referring to ongoing challenges, she acknowledged that running a province under such conditions requires determination and courage. She also commended Chief Minister Bugti for his leadership during difficult times.

The Maryam Nawaz security support pledge reflects growing inter-provincial cooperation at a time when security remains a top national priority. Officials believe the financial assistance will enhance operational capacity and contribute to a safer environment in Balochistan.

The visit also highlighted political consensus on the need for stronger coordination across provinces. As a result, both administrations expressed hope that continued partnership will support long-term peace and development in the region.
