Pakistan has officially joined the Argentina Football Community as part of the Argentine Football Association’s (AFA) global expansion plan. The announcement was made on AFA’s verified social media accounts, highlighting the country’s strong passion for football.
In its official statement, AFA recognized Pakistan as the world’s fifth-most populous nation, with over 240 million people. The association also cited Pakistan’s growing economy and enthusiastic football fanbase as key reasons for the move.
Through this initiative, AFA aims to establish a closer connection with Pakistani fans. Plans include offering localized digital content, forming partnerships with major companies, supporting sports-related projects, and strengthening the AFA brand across the country.
“The passion has always been here, now the connection is official and the journey begins,” AFA stated on social media. The association added that more activities and on-ground events will be revealed in the coming months.
Founded in 1893, the Argentina Football Association is one of the oldest and most prestigious football governing bodies in the world. It manages all levels of football in Argentina and oversees the national team, currently ranked among the world’s best under coach Lionel Scaloni.
Argentina has seen major recent successes, winning the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and Copa America titles in 2021 and 2024. The team features global superstar Lionel Messi, celebrated as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
By expanding its fan network to Pakistan, AFA aims to strengthen its international presence while providing local supporters direct access to Argentine football culture. This move marks a significant step in the association’s strategy to grow football communities globally.
