Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Vienna on Sunday for a two-day official visit to Austria at the invitation of Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker. The visit aims to enhance Pakistan-Austria relations and explore opportunities for economic and diplomatic cooperation.
Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani delegation were warmly welcomed at Vienna International Airport. A contingent of the Austrian Armed Forces presented a ceremonial salute to the Prime Minister, highlighting the importance of this visit.
The delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistants to the Prime Minister.
During his stay, PM Shehbaz Sharif will hold bilateral and delegation-level meetings with Chancellor Christian Stocker. A key highlight of the visit is the Pakistan-Austria Business Forum, where both leaders will co-chair discussions with top business leaders to promote investment and trade between the two nations.
The Prime Minister will also attend a United Nations event focused on “Sustainable Development, the Path to Global Peace and Prosperity,” reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to international cooperation. In addition, Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to discuss matters of mutual interest in the field of atomic energy.
This visit underscores Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties and expand economic collaboration with European partners. It also signals a renewed focus on sustainable development, global peace, and shared prosperity.
