Prime Minister condemns Islamabad Imambargah blast after an explosion struck a place of worship in the capital’s Tarlai area, leaving several people dead and others injured. The premier expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.

According to official statements reported by local media, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the incident as a grave act of violence. He prayed for the departed souls and asked for strength and patience for the bereaved families. Moreover, he stressed that those responsible must be identified quickly and brought to justice.

The blast occurred at an Imambargah, a congregation site for Shia Muslims, raising fresh concerns about public safety and the protection of religious spaces in Pakistan. While authorities have yet to release detailed findings, the government has already moved to initiate a formal investigation.

During a meeting with the interior minister, the prime minister directed officials to determine the cause of the explosion without delay. He also instructed law enforcement agencies to trace the perpetrators and ensure they receive strict punishment under the law. Such acts, he said, would not be tolerated, adding that the state remains committed to preventing unrest and safeguarding citizens.

In addition, the prime minister ordered immediate medical support for those injured. He asked health authorities to monitor treatment closely and provide the best possible care. Quick response from emergency services helped shift the wounded to nearby hospitals, although officials have not yet shared a final count of casualties.

Pakistan has witnessed periodic security challenges in recent years, particularly targeting crowded locations and religious gatherings. Therefore, analysts often emphasize the need for stronger preventive measures and intelligence coordination to reduce risks.

Prime Minister condemns Islamabad Imambargah blast at a time when the government has repeatedly pledged zero tolerance for violence. The latest directive signals an effort to reinforce that stance while reassuring the public that authorities are taking the matter seriously.

Investigators are expected to release further details as the inquiry progresses. Meanwhile, security around sensitive locations in the capital may see heightened vigilance to prevent similar incidents.
