Punjab School Timings for Ramadan have been officially announced by the School Education Department Punjab, confirming revised hours for all public educational institutions during the holy month.

According to a notification issued on February 16, the new schedule will apply across the entire Punjab. The changes aim to support students, teachers, and school staff who will be observing fasting during Ramadan.

Under the revised plan, single-shift schools will begin classes at 8:30 AM and close at 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, these schools will close earlier at 12:30 PM. The shorter day is designed to reduce fatigue and help students return home safely before the late afternoon.

For double-shift schools, the morning session will operate from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM between Monday and Thursday. The second session will start at 1:00 PM and end at 4:00 PM on the same days. However, Friday timings will be different, with the evening shift running from 2:30 PM until 5:00 PM.

The department also announced special arrangements for girls’ schools. These institutions will open and close 15 minutes earlier than the standard schedule. This step has been taken to ensure convenience and safety, especially for female students traveling to and from school.

Officials said the adjusted timings will remain in place for the entire month of Ramadan. Once the holy month ends, schools will return to their normal daily schedules.

Every year, the Government of Punjab revises school hours to accommodate fasting routines. The decision reflects the province’s effort to balance academic activities with the physical needs of students and staff during Ramadan.

Parents and teachers have been advised to follow the updated timetable strictly. School administrations are also instructed to ensure smooth implementation of the new timings without disrupting academic progress.

The announcement provides clarity ahead of Ramadan, allowing families and schools to prepare accordingly while maintaining the continuity of education.
