14-member Balochistan cabinet takes oath

QUETTA: The newly appointed 14-member provincial cabinet took oath on Friday at the Governor House Balochistan.

Governor Balochistan Abdul Wali Kakar administrated the oath in a sworn-in ceremony held at Balochistan’s Governor House in Quetta.

Earlier, in a statement, the Balochistan government’s spokesperson said that the oath-taking ceremony of 14 ministers will begin at 12 PM on Friday.

Earlier, after the consensus among the allies of the Balochistan government on the formula of cabinet formation, the Balochistan government decided to form the provincial cabinet after Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The swearing-in ceremony was scheduled a few days ago but could not be held as Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti had to fly abroad for the medical check-up of his brother,” the Balochistan government spokesperson added.

It is pertinent to mention that Sarfraz Bugti took oath as Balochistan Chief Minister on March 2. 41 MPAs voted in favor of PPP’s candidate Sarfraz Bugti to elect him the Leader of the House in the Balochistan Assembly.

Until now, the Balochistan government was operating without any central provincial cabinet.
