CALIFORNIA: After ‘Chat Filters’, Meta-owned WhatsApp is set to release a new feature marking recent active online contacts for easier and speedy conversation initiation.

This list is supposed to help users by providing useful information about who is now available for communication while they are trying to establish a call.

Rather than providing a full roster of online contacts, this option will provide a curated list of recent active contacts.

This new feature is another step in WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve security and improve user experience, as WABetaInfo claims to have seen in beta testing.

Earlier, WhatsApp launched new Chat Filters for users to help find the right conversation quickly without having to scroll through the full inbox.

The new feature will allow users to conveniently search for messages from groups, specific contacts, or businesses more efficiently. The messaging app’s new feature started to roll out to users on April 16 and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

According to the WhatsApp press release, “As people increasingly do more on WhatsApp, it’s more important than ever before to be able to get to your messages fast. That’s why today we’re launching new Chat Filters so you can do that without having to scroll through your full inbox.”

The “All” list will be the default view of all your messages. Meanwhile, theUnread” list will be perfect for when you want to see which conversations you need to catch up on or respond to. It shows messages that are either marked by you as unread or haven’t been opened yet, so you can prioritize your responses.

Furthermore, theGroups” list, a highly requested feature, will show all group chats organized in one place, making it easier to find favorite ones. This list will also show subgroups of Communities.
