KARACHI: A 3.6-magnitude earthquake was felt in several parts of the port city on Sunday evening.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)’s National Seismic Monitoring Center said the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers near Quaidabad.
The seismological center further said that the earthquake hit the port city at 5:33 pm.
However, no loss of life or property was reported, but panic spread among residents after the earthquake.
The last earthquake to hit Karachi was on March 31, 2025, when a 4.7-magnitude earthquake wreaked havoc in Karachi and its surrounding areas.
The PMD had said that the earthquake struck at 4:11 pm, its epicenter was 75 kilometers north of Karachi at a depth of 19 kilometers.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.6 and the epicenter was 65 kilometers east-southeast of the Athal area of Balochistan and its depth was 10 kilometers.
