ISLAMABAD: Sales of petroleum products have recorded a 3 percent increase on an annual basis in the first 7 months of the current fiscal year.
According to industry statistics, sales of 9.67 million tons of petroleum products were recorded in the first 7 months of the fiscal year, which is 3 percent more than the 9.41 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In January, sales of 1.52 million tons of petroleum products were recorded, which is 10 percent more than the 1.38 million tons in January last year.
Sales of petroleum products in January recorded a 12 percent increase on an annual basis compared to December. In December, sales of 1.35 million tons of petroleum products were recorded in the country.
According to statistics, 4.50 million tons of gasoline, 4.24 million tons of high-speed diesel and 0.26 million tons of furnace oil were sold in the first 7 months of the fiscal year.
In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the country recorded sales of 4.37 million tonnes of petrol, 4.06 million tonnes of high-speed diesel and 0.41 million tonnes of furnace oil.
Petrol and diesel sales increased by three and four percent respectively on an annual basis, while furnace oil sales decreased by 36 percent on an annual basis.
According to the statistics, the volume of sales of petroleum products of PSO in the first 7 months of the financial year was recorded at 4.07 million tonnes, which is 5 percent less than the 4.28 million tonnes in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Attock Petroleum Limited’s volume of petroleum products sales was 0.80 million tonnes while Haskol’s volume of petroleum products sales was recorded at 0.30 million tonnes.
