4-year-old girl crushed to death by truck in Karachi

KARACHI: In a tragic incident, a mini truck ran over and killed a 4-year-old girl identified as Rukhsana near Mehran Town, Karachi. The saddening incident occurred at the time of Iftar.

According to Rukhsana’s family, the girl had gone out to play with her friends, whereas the mini truck was present to dump sand in the area, ran over her.

There were three passengers in the mini truck at the time of the incident, while two of them fled, one was caught and handed over to police by the residents.

Rukhsana was the eldest of the three siblings. After this incident occurred, her body was swiftly taken to the hospital, however, rescuers confirmed that she was already dead and handed over her body to her grieving family.

This incident has continually raised questions about road accidents in the city involving heavy vehicles.

In another case, two industrialists were killed when their car was struck on the ICI Bridge in Karachi by a speeding trailer.

Police identified the victims as Ashraf, 62, and his son Naveed. Both were en route to the SITE industrial area when the trailer rammed their car.

The impact reportedly caused their car to break through the bridge railing and fall onto some iron pipes underneath, causing their death immediately. A rickshaw driver was also said to be injured very badly in the accident.
